Old Life was Rubbish…We Sing for the Future

After almost half a century, Cornelius Cardew’s protest music never felt more timely. We Sing for the Future is a big piano piece, based on a song and conveying hope in the young. Award-winning Irish pianist Michael McHale performs. Laurence Crane, minimalist composer with an ear for the askew, the spanner in the works, responds with Old Life was Rubbish and other pieces, played by the group with which he has a close association: Apartment House.

Louth Contemporary Music Society’s WE SING FOR THE FUTURE is funded by the Arts Council, financially supported by Create Louth and the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
