Kate Molleson of the Guardian/BBC Radio 3 will interview the composers at 7pm on Saturday 23 June 2018 as part of the Book of Hours.

Kate Molleson is a music journalist for The Guardian and The Herald and a presenter for BBC Radio 3. She contributes to publications including Opera, Gramophone and BBC Music Magazine and was commissioning editor of Dear Green Sounds, a history of Glasgow’s music venues commissioned by UNESCO.

Her radio documentaries (BBC Radio 4, BBC World Service) include a portrait of Ethiopian nun/pianist/composer Emahoy Tsegué-Maryam Guèbrou and a two-part feature on Mongolian opera.

She grew up in various parts of Scotland and the far north of Canada and studied at St Mary’s Music School (Edinburgh), the United World College of the Atlantic (Wales), McGill University (Montreal) and King’s College London, where she researched early experimental radio and the operas of Ezra Pound. She was a copy editor, music critic and cycling columnist for the Montreal Gazette and deputy editor of Opera magazine before moving home to Scotland as the Guardian’s classical music critic in 2010. She lives in Glasgow.
